Employee volunteerism

For over 44 years, thousands of dedicated individuals and groups have been the heart of our mission. Here are some fun ways you and your coworkers can make a difference...one child, one family, one community at a time.
- This Mother's Day, help save the lives of women and their babies during childbirth by coordinating a white ribbon campaign promoting the importance of pre- and post-natal care.
- Plan a Jeans Day at your workplace encouraging participants to wear denim in exchange for a $10 donation to Project Concern. Money raised can often be matched by your employer and given as a donation as well.
- In recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1st, you can organize and AIDS Walk/Run to raise awareness and pledges in support of Project Concern's efforts to combat this global pandemic.
- Did you know that 80 quarters, 200 dimes, or 2,000 pennies could immunize a child against deadly diseases? By starting a World Health Day (April 7) penny collection, you can promote Project Concern's disease prevention efforts, encourage healthy competition at your office and get rid of that loose change lying around your house!
- For Earth Day in April, organize a cleanup fundraiser and solicit pledges that are attached to specific goal, such as miles of beach or neighborhood cleaned.
- Begin an energy conservation campaign at your workplace. The money saved on utility expenses can often be matched by your employer and given as a donation to Project Concern.
- Organize a "Hunger Banquet" in recognition of World Hunger Day in October. Participants raise pledges and then attend a dinner in which they are divided into groups representing various global demographics. This experience promotes an in-depth, firsthand understanding of hunger and its affects on impoverished communities.
- Coordinate an event at your office where participants skip lunch and join in with millions of children and families worldwide who go hungry every day. Donate your lunch money to Project Concern and ask your organization to match your group donation.
- In developing communities around the world, poverty and malnutrition are often barriers that prevent children from attending school. You can bring awareness to this problem by organizing a "No Socks Day."
