New VP for HIV/AIDS Programming Announced
PCI is pleased to welcome Dr. Kwaku Yeboah as its new Vice President for HIV/AIDS Programming Development, a position that will be based in PCI’s Washington, DC office.
Dr. Yeboah brings a unique blend of both clinical and international development experience to this role. In addition to practicing medicine for over 10 years in Ghana, he has also established HIV/AIDS leadership at community, local, and international levels where he has provided policy, technical and programmatic support to both governmental and private charitable organizations. His most recent position was Director of Prevention and Mitigation at Family Health International’s Institute for HIV/AIDS in Arlington, Virginia.
“The quality of PCI’s programs is reliant on integration and implementation at the community level,” said President & CEO George Guimaraes. “The expansion of our leadership to include Dr. Yeboah is reflection of our commitment as an organization to change lives in a holistic manner and to address the underlying causes of poverty.”
Dr. Yeboah’s main responsibility will be growing PCI’s HIV&AIDS and related programming worldwide. In addition, he will focus on the inter-related areas of infectious disease, women and children’s health, economic development, food and nutrition security, education, and organizational capacity building.
“I look forward to the opportunity to grow the organization as we contribute to the achievement of global public health goals,” said Dr. Yeboah. “My vision is to position PCI as a leader in integrated HIV/AIDS programming, leveraging other sectors, such as water, sanitation and food security.”
PCI is actively addressing the AIDS crisis through programs that provide care, prevention, support, treatment, food, shelter, and livelihood opportunities to those affected by the disease. PCI’s global health and humanitarian programs help people become healthy and more capable of taking care of themselves.
